Themed Bed & Breakfasts - Corrigan Shore Guesthous
Property Name: Corrigan Shore Guest House
Theme(s): Angling
Water, water everywhere… and how beautiful it is!! On the edge of the seemingly infinite shoreline of the Erne waterway, you can almost dip your toes in from the front steps of this comfortable countryside house. As welcoming as is possible, Catherine Corrigan and her young son Nathan will ensure you have a really enjoyable stay here. Corrigan Shore Guest House is literally what it says it is!!
Having spent a few years in catering college, Catherine enjoys turning out fine food for her visitors, her omelets are especially good at breakfast, and even the swans on the lough know all about her delicious wheaten bread and like to drop by!! Ideal for the fisherman, Corrigan Shore is also the perfect base to pursue other interests. In the water, scheduled boat trips, canoeing or sailing or out of the water, horse riding or cycling; they are all available in the area. For the more leisurely guest, visit some of the attractions such as Enniskillen Castle, Florence Court or Beleek Pottery.
On opening her doors over 10 years ago, the first visitors to enjoy Catherines’ hospitality were Anglers, the rest as they say is history!! Since then the facilities at Corrigan Shore only improved. The beauty of it is, that having purchased your fishing permit at the Enniskillen Tourist Office, you can fish from the garden; there are not too many houses with Upper Lough Erne as a garden pond!! There is also a public jetty adjacent to the property, ‘perch’ yourself at the end and engage in some serious coarse fishing. If you wish to indulge in a spot of game fishing, or explore the Erne waterways further, maps and charts are available at the house of some of the best fishing areas around. Whatever your requirements, Catherine will facilitate you in organising it, from bait delivery to boat hire; a guide to a garage (to store your fishing gear) and a fridge (bait storage) to festival details which are run at various times from April to October. She can even put you in contact with an approved children’s angling tutor for the younger members wanting to adopt the skill and enjoyment of a days fishing on the water’s edge.
On the arrival of nightfall, relax in front of a DVD on the Waterways of Ireland, and if you haven’t seen enough water for the day, take a glance out the window before you close your eyes, sweet dreams!!
